One of the significant draws of Causey is that no motors are allowed, which means all of your activities are safe from waves being created.

The reservoir layout is so large that there are three distinct areas for adventuring. To truly explore everything, you must visit a few times. The cliff jumping is more so in the middle, with rope swings around. The areas are also relatively sheltered, meaning wind wasn't a problem. Sometimes, when you are paddleboarding, you can turn into a kyte, so having a place to work on your skills is nice.

Swimming: As the sun glistens upon the clear, tranquil waters of Causey Reservoir, swimmers are enticed to dip into its rejuvenating embrace. From leisurely floats to invigorating swims, the reservoir's inviting allure provides a peaceful haven for aquatic enjoyment.

Cliff Jumping: Adventure-seekers are beckoned to plunge into an exhilarating cliff-jumping experience at Causey Reservoir. With its towering cliffs and deep, translucent waters, the reservoir presents an irresistible playground for those yearning for an adrenaline-charged escapade and indelible moments of pure exhilaration. The water is much deeper than expected off the cliff sides. If you are going to make the jump, try to jump as far away from the rocks as you can. Also, be advised that you are jumping at your own risk and must choose for yourself.

A little side story for you. My husband was jumping off the cliffs and was wearing an Apple watch. Though he never lost the watch jumping, it somehow vanished when he was at the top of a cliff. The latch of the stand apple band is secure, but not cliff jumping impact secure. The watch was gone. A couple weeks later, the reservoir's water levels dropped, and someone discovered it. We saw the watch pop up on FindMy and could message the person. When we retrieved the watch, we noticed that the person had found a lot of them at that reservoir. So, the moral of this little story is that if you are going to do extreme activities, leave your Apple Watch at home.

Fishing: Cast against the picturesque backdrop of Causey Reservoir, anglers are presented with a wealth of fishing opportunities. Whether from the shoreline or aboard a vessel, the reservoir's diverse ecosystem supports abundant fish species, promising an immersive and rewarding experience for fishing enthusiasts of all skill levels.

Free Parking and Entry: Heightening the allure of Causey Reservoir is its commitment to accessibility and affordability. With free parking and entry, visitors are invited to embark on their chosen pursuits without the encumbrance of additional fees, ensuring that the reservoir remains an inclusive and inviting destination for families and adventurers alike. There are multiple places to park, but all require walking down a hill to get to the water. The primary parking hill has many rocks, so be mindful of your shoe choice. Tevas or water shoes are the best for keeping your feet safe.
