This was more than just a trip. It was a chance to witness the best in skiing and snowboarding up close, all set against the stunning Buttermilk Aspen skiing terrain.

Arriving at Bush Creek parking for X Games Aspen was surprisingly smooth. The lot was well-organized, and staff directed cars efficiently, making the start of the day hassle-free. From there, I hopped on the X Games shuttle bus, which took us directly to the venue. The ride was comfortable, giving me time to soak in the excitement building among fellow fans. One of the shuttles had pink lighting and girly music which led to high vibes!

Security checkpoints were quick and straightforward. The staff was friendly but thorough, ensuring safety without slowing down the flow. Walking into the venue, I immediately felt the buzz of anticipation. The scene was set for a day packed with action and fun. You cannot bring in food or drinks or large cameras.

Skiing Around Buttermilk & X Games Chairlift Views

One of the most unique parts of attending X Games Aspen 2026 was skiing near the competition. Buttermilk’s slopes were alive with energy, and riding the chairlift gave incredible views of the courses below. From the X Games chairlift view, I could watch athletes tackle massive jumps and rails while enjoying the crisp mountain air.

The temperature hovered around 4 degrees Fahrenheit, making the cold bite sharply against my face. Despite the chill, the thrill of being outdoors in such an iconic winter event kept me warm. The combination of fresh powder and the roar of the crowd created an atmosphere unlike any other Aspen winter event I have experienced.

Highlights from the Saturday Night X Games Events

Saturday night brought some of the most exciting moments of the X Games ski and snowboard competitions. The women’s and men’s snowboard big air events were jaw-dropping. Athletes launched off massive ramps, spinning and flipping with precision that left the crowd gasping. I have a video below of watching the 2340 live, which was the most insane thing to witness. You don't grasp how big these athletes are going, until you see it with your own eyes.

The mens ski knuckle huck was another highlight, showcasing creativity and style as skiers sent themselves off the knuckle of the jump, pulling off tricks that seemed to defy gravity.

The snowboard superpipe competition was the grand finale. Watching pros carve through the halfpipe, launching high above the walls with spins and grabs, was electrifying. The crowd’s energy was contagious, with cheers echoing through the valley. Each run brought new surprises and moments that left me in awe.

Freebies & Perks at X Games Aspen

One of the unexpected joys of the day was all the freebies at X Games Aspen. From Monster energy drinks to fresh bananas and sparkling seltzer, these small treats kept me energized and refreshed. It was a thoughtful touch that added to the overall fun and comfort of the event, making it easy to stay fueled without missing any of the action.

The Aspen X Games Experience & Atmosphere

The scale of X Games Aspen 2026 was impressive. Everything ran smoothly, from parking to shuttle service to event scheduling. The crowd was a mix of hardcore fans, families, and adventure seekers, all sharing the same excitement. Being so close to elite athletes and watching them perform at their peak was truly inspiring.

The Aspen X Games experience felt like a celebration of winter sports culture. The combination of competition, community, and the breathtaking mountain setting made it clear why this event is a must-see. The energy was constant, and every moment felt packed with possibility.
