Cookout Chili

My Dads Secret Recipe

Cookout Chili is a family recipe. This homemade chili is fantastic, and you can personalize it however you like. It is excellent for bringing to the slopes or camping. World Exploration at your taste buds!

Cook Out Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 or more pounds of ground beef) can be subbed with ground chicken or Turkey)

  • 2 large yellow onions, diced

  • 2 large green peppers, diced

  • 2 - 15.5oz cans of dark red kidney beans. Do not drain.

  • 2- 28oz cans of crushed tomatoes

  • 1/2 of a lemon squeezed

  • 3 tablespoons of chili powder

  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons of salt

  • 1 tablespoon of ground pepper

  • 2 tablespoons of paprika

Additional add ons I like but not in the original recipe

  • 1 jalapeno, diced and seeded

  • Sriracha to taste

For Serving

  • Sour cream, I use dairy-free

  • Cheese, Dairy-free

  • French- fries, as a side

Step 1

Stir- fry the meat in a large pot. You want the ground beef to be cooked thoroughly before adding other ingredients. Keep the fat in the pot.

Step 2

Add the rest of your ingredients to the pot with ground beef. Turn the heat to low and simmer covered for 45 mins to 1-hour stirring often. After 30 mins, remove the lid. Cook until peppers and onions are tender.

Step 3

Serve with your choice of sour cream and cheese. 

Optional sides are French fries.
